It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop.

About BRKFST Studio

BRKFST Studio is a place for anyone to come and find strength.

In the midst of plurality, competing priorities, personal tempests and ambivalence, work in the studio points to objects, methods and experiences that bring awareness and strength to the body - refining and redefining the ways that we make our way.

I started BRKFST Studio as a holistic system to think about ways to approach physical training that felt unencumbered by a "go hard or go home" attitude.

Instead, it was to be something no-pressure, ambitious but always approachable, with an emphasis on current scientific programming so that workouts would yield specific, achievable results through consistent effort.

Training points us back to life experience: our guttural gains reflect the struggle of everyday life. This is a practice defined by acceptance, experimentation, persistence and transformation.

BRKFST Studio is alimentary and heterogenous, based on the idea of a breakfast of movement that meets your needs and sets you up for the rest of your day.

When I think of training with [Lesley], I think of stacking a barbell with shiny silver plates, getting grounded and focused, then getting strong. I also think of tahini and tartar. And, most importantly, doing it all over again. This ritual feels vital to me. It’s strength training, but also a form of meditation.

About Lesley Moon

I work with all kinds of people in the Studio, and lots of folks new to exercising, using a variety of evidence-based training methods to help them get strong. I also consult with people that are looking to tune up their routine into something that yields better results or helps them achieve a specific goal - anything from doing their first chin up, to deadlifting double bodyweight, to establishing a simple and consistent movement practice.

When it comes down to it, for me, training has been a vital way to ground myself, connect with my energy and to focus on patterns of movement that bring me a lot of joy.

I'm most always trying to find a way to make training and physical work less alienating and more gentle, fun, efficient and sensitizing for the people training with me.

And, lastly, when I'm not in the Studio, you might find me around Schöneberg walking my poodle.
